I’ve been traveling through India this week — my first visit! While it was hard to escape the news entirely, I tried to focus on all the things India has to offer. The sounds, smells, and sights are truly unique and exhilarating. India itself is developing rapidly — though its aspirations may outpace its ability to deliver.
Rather than inflicting a lot of reading on you this week, I will settle for some pictures. Our most amazing experience this past week was no doubt the sighting of four tigers in the Ranthambore National Reserve — a mother with three (nearly adult) cubs. And seeing the Taj at sunrise was truly surreal.
Even in India, surrounded by beauty and subject to sensory overload, I couldn’t entirely escape the epochal changes happening in the United States and Europe. Here are a couple of pieces I wrote this week.
What Trump Doesn’t Understand about NATO, March 8, 2025.
It’s Time for a New Trans-Atlantic Bargain, Foreign Policy, March 8, 2025.
